Kundi takes swipe at Imran

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Minister of State for Poverty Alleviation and Social Safety Faisal Karim Kundi on Monday took a swipe at Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Asad Umar for comparing his party with the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP).

Hitting out at Mr Umar, Mr Kundi said, "No one has faced trials and tribulations like former prime minister Benazir Bhutto and Begum Nusrat Bhutto". He also berated PTI Chairman Imran Khan, saying, "Imran Khan is afraid of arrest".

Mr Kundi heaped praise on the PPP workers, saying, "The PPP's workers are valiant because its leadership is brave. After only two days in jail, Asad Umar has relinquished his posts," said Mr Kundi.

Earlier today, Mr Umar said that staying with or leaving the party does not make any difference to its vote bank.

Speaking to media outside the Islamabad High Court (IHC), Mr Umar said, " You know that the PTI's vote belongs to Imran Khan".

On the other side, Sindh Minister for Information and Local Government Syed Nasir Hussain Shah on Monday equated the PTI with the "Titanic".

Taking a swipe at the PTI, Mr Shah said, "Titanic was experiencing its maiden voyage when it went down. Similarly, the PTI also experienced ruling the country for the first time, but the ship sank."

"Imran Khan is a retired captain [of the Pakistan cricket team]. Titanic captain Edward Smith was also a retired captain of the Royal Navy," Mr Shah maintained.

He said, "Sea captain Edward Smith sank the Titanic in April 1910, Imran Khan's ship sank in April 2022."

Mr Shah described the sea captain as a "hero", saying, "Edward Smith sacrificed his life along with the passengers."
